Xeno & Oaklander are a minimal electronics duo consisting of Liz Wendelbo and Sean McBride of Martial Canterel who are based in Brooklyn, New York. As artists, they have been deeply involved in the analog synth community since 2004 and have helped promote and inspire the revival of synth wave and the rise of dark wave in the US and throughout the world through their extensive touring and prolific output. I can't call myself a fan, but for sure they still influence me every day...not only musick... Like somebody once said...that they don't sing or make music about magic, but they are magic(k). Wise words. I'm kind of happy that I still have many releases to explore... The first record I had....in late nineties, was The Angelic Conversation soundtrack. I still remember to listening it on acid....even if my English was poor that time, it was superb experience. My good friend Lemmy, the guy who started Beats From The Vault with me in 1998 died on new year's eve 2000....he had many Coil albums....few years later his half-brother (didn't know him before) found me and wanted to give me a lot of his CD's....including many Coil albums....sure I liked Coil back then, but they didn't mean anything so special for me....like Clock DVA for example....I was a fan back then and I'm still a fan of Adi's works....but few years ago when Dais records re-released Musick To Play In The Dark....I listened to it first time and I was blown away from that day...it means that last few years I have been kinda fan of them....but still exploring....listening to their music and reading books....they have so many mega cool books too....that's my story... Leroy Se Meurt - Voué à rouiller After two remarkable EPs on the Dutch label Enfant Terrible (2019 and 2020), one on Switzerland’s Lux Rec (2020), several tracks on various compilations and around sixty concerts all over Europe, the Parisian duo Leroy Se Meurt now offers an updated version of his electronic punk, for the first time in long format, on the Berlin label Mannequin Records. This first album, named Voué à Rouiller, sees the band improve its existing formula, while exploding its own shackles. Their EBM, post-punk, electro remains, but the tone hardens severely. Abrasive rock pieces are now added to the mix, where electric sounds rumble and seek their place in the middle of this electronic discharge where synths, samplers and other drum machines reign. The minimalist, straight-cut compositions systematically hit the mark.
